The remastered version, yes. Depends on the time of day, but there are usually quite a few people online.

AoE3 the less popular one if you count out AoE1, but it's still a good game. It just deviates the most from 2 and 4.

People just dont like changes, that`s why it had some backlash. But it really is a good game and I remember enjoying it even more than part 2. Especially because of it`s (to this date) pretty underused setting.

To be honest, AOE 3 has a slightly better campaign than AOE 2. I remember enjoying playing the AOE 3 Malta and Asian Dynasties campaign when I was a child. Nevertheless, I have never played AOE 3 online. I have 150 hours in AOE 4, but I have not played it since the end of this summer.
