Well, men do not need a wife and kids to self-actualise. Some are married to their work or hobby.

And men have time, some settle down late.
Marriage is turning into a luxury anyway, with the high cost of living, high breakup/divorce rate,
and legal system favouring women.
Why would men even bother anymore?

A worthy choice, in fact, if for some reason you were unlucky enough to meet the “right” person early enough in your youth.
The older you get, the better a person’s shortcomings become visible. And it can easily turn out that someone may consist of nothing but shortcomings. Wasted time and money, with minimal guarantee of a positive result.
