100 percent true. When I lost my job years ago, I found out later that my ex wife had gone to consult a divorce attorney during my 2 months of unemployment. Omfg. You lived my life! Same damn thing happened to me. The company I worked for closed operation here in U.S. moved over seas. I was maybe unemployed for 3 months max. I used to believe "gold digging" was something bad, but then I changed my mind. Expecting men to be hard working/earning a lot of money encourages eugenics. Higher IQ / hard working men tend to earn more money than low IQ / lazy men on average. From studies we know personality traits and IQ are determined by genetics to a significant degree. My conclusion: women preferring men with money is good for humanity.

Eugenics aside, the point of marriage is having a child. To raise a child in decent conditions you need money. How can you expect a man to have a family if he barely has money for himself. Women are out of work more often than men because of having children. When they're pregnant or at home with the child, they need someone to provide money for them.If I were woman I'd prefer men with above average salary to men who earn a minimum wage.

Also, who cares. Everyone should be able to have their own preferences. Should we crucify 40-50 year old men for finding 20-25 year old women better looking than 40-50 year old women?
