    Not fully right, but I admit the look will influence. I do not hesitate to say that.

    I just meant that there are European ethnics who really are proud of what they have done (themselves), and still someone else in Europe might not value them nearly as high. Nope, Europeans will not see each others (and themselves) equally ways. There are no standard or one truth. I could use Hungary as a example, but I'll save you from that . So lets take Sweden instead. If one will think about Gustav II Adolf time or much later all the way to 1980's ....and another person just today? Results will hardly be the same? And there are many many other examples So if your are proud of your country, do not automatically think that others will see you (your people) the same ways.

    The Edelweiß symbol is restricted to the Alpine part of Germany (the traditional settlement area of Germans).

    The unpolitical symbol for Germanhood and Germany to my perception is the Eichenlaub (oak leaves) in various forms. It was used in all different political entities and eras.
