I saw some Hindu Bangladeshi/Bengali results and they had notably lower mongoloid than muslims. Also higher steppe and west Asian input.
Alright. Does the kid himself look Bangladeshi now? He may end up resembling Central Asians, Uzbeks or Turkmens for example. Or even Balkan Gypsies.

apparently my dad and all my cousins are from this Haplogroup.
that's what I found on ftdna

It is the broadest level, neither R1a nor R1b.

odd that they gave you such assigment, it just mean R haplogroup I think. So you're not even certain to be R1, maybe you are R2 even! Deeper test would be useful in your case.

I expected some Dravidian haplogroup like H or L or maybe something mongoloid since low class Bangladeshis mixed quite a bit with Sino-Tibetian peoples.
It might be from some great great english grand father most likley, or an Iranian ancestor with IE lineage who migrated south east into the India area.

I don't think my haplo on FtDNA is available, I imported my results from 23andMe a long time ago. Speaking haplos I'd really like to know more about my mtDna R0, no idea still wether it could be natively European, Middle Eastern, or gypsy/Indian

He looks like Brazilian pardo I think. Could pass for Uzbek or Turkmen yes, likely too. He has similar pigmentation like Gypsies (light brown), but softer facial features than they do and little bit chinky vibe.

At least he doesn't look like a certain mixed Romani individual!

Do you think they will do the same with the mtDNA one day?
