The basque football managers or coaches from the Basque region have been the most successful football managers in Europe recently.

Take a look at top football managers from Basque region:

Mikel Arteta - the basque manager of Arsenal, hailing from Gipuzkoa province of Basque Country. Almost won the premier league title last year, finishing 2'd next to treble winning Man City. Now competing for the EPL title with Arsenal again.

Unai Emery - the basque manager of Aston Villa, just like Arteta, he is from Gipuzkoa province of Basque Country. Having won UEFA Europa League 3 times, he is now leading Aston Villa to first Champions League appearance in decades... currently seating 3'd at EPL.

Xabi Alonso - even though not ethnic Basque, he is also from Gipuzkoa province of Basque Country just like Emery & Arteta. Xabi Alonso is currently sitting on top of Bundesliga table leading Bayer Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title in their history & linked with many top clubs across the Europe.

He grew up playing together with Mikel Arteta & Andoni Iraola in Antiguoko academy.

Yes basques do seem to dominate in terms of management, although Artetas success hasn't really comed to fruition. You don't get a trophy for bottling top spot , he has also bottled other cup competitions every damn year. ( I'm an Arsenal fan)
