Yeah, the same with bluegrass and country, it goes back to old English and Scottish ballads. My favorite Italian dishes are probably pasta alla Norma (pasta with fried eggplant, onion and tomato sauce), ragu, lasagna, straciette, which is thin sliced beef served with tomato sauce or arugula and parmesan, and gateau, which is a potato parmesan salami casserole, essentially. You can't go wrong with Italian food, from northern to southern Italy the dishes change so, so much. In the North there's Austrian, French and Slovene influence, and in the South it's influenced by Greek cuisine, with Sicily even being influenced by Arab cuisine.

I have to add that they were *fried* apple "pancakes" (from the other post). As for music, I sometimes mistook bluegrass songs for Irish folk songs and vice versa. The folk dancing is almost identical too. Frankly, there wouldn't even be rock music if it wasn't for British Isles influences that led to rockabilly.

Just wait until you're 30. What once was insulting will be complimentary. An Asian woman thought that I was in junior high school when I was a college freshman. I thought my world ended then and there, but I get it now because "Wednesday Addams" looks like she's 12 to me.

I understand this... not because I am particular tall, I am quite petite (1.62m), but because I have a face that looks much younger than I am. I have quite a normal adult body, I speak normally, I don't think I act particularly childish... but even at 27 I am asked, 'Do you have a parent with you?' It is very frustrating, but I guess we should be grateful, we will age well .

Nothing too far off from an ethnicity I have in my background. I have been guessed as Jewish before, although I do have a 3-4% AJ admix, not that that's enough to really shift my appearence much.
