No. Due to islamic conquests, that region was depopulated prior to Turks. ERE made some efforts to repopulate the region with armenians and other people from NE Anatolia but it was still sparsely populated when Turks arrived. Later, levantine muslims partially populated the area under Seljuk&Ottoman rule, today's Arabic speaking levantines (Nusayri).
