I have already written a huge number of posts on this topic, so I will answer briefly, quoting the Chinese - “20% bad, 80% good.”
Especially considering the logic of the circumstances surrounded him.

Stalin didn't gift huge resources to Turkey like Lenin did. This makes him look better.
Do what you should.

Don't call Crimean Tatars as just "Tatars".

90% of Russians dont give a damn about ideology and politics, if you ask random people in the street who was him you will have hilarious answers, majority wont answer what was his name and patronymic name, surname. Ukrainians en masse have same type of illiterate hate towards him and lots of them used to "love" him some 10 years ago, but because they were told he's bad by TV and authorities made them change the opinion.
Russians are very similar to Americans in this, history is half legendary and not important for most of people and Russians are very similar in their stupid answers at the streets. I find it positive, because when masses become too politically literate and active, ideologically motivated, it makes them dangerous. Masses should think about own profession, family, their house, how they will spend next vacation etc.
Loving Stalin without knowing 1% about him is ok, like he's some Santa Claus.
Conscious haters and lovers of Georgian tyrant are few in numbers.

Georgians are proud of Stalin, even though he is an Ossetian. I have a very positive attitude towards Stalin, although my ancestors, Stalin's contemporaries, did not like him

I think Turks and Albanians know what Russians think about Stalin.
Do what you should.
Are there any significant number of Russian Orthodox that like Stalin? If so, what kind of mental gymnastics do they perform to arrive at that conclusion?
