Belarus and Ukraine were quite similar in 1990. Except Ukraine was many times richer and more resourceful.
If you think one was a dictatorship and another was a democracy, then there's an example for you.

I agree to what you insinuate. But as Vessna wanted to connect disadvantagous to her living conditions in Belarus to a dictature-close political system I found it sufficient to point out that the living conditions in the Ukraine with democracy are not better. That they are even worse than in Belarus may be true but I didn't want to enter a dispute that is not necessary for what I wanted to point out.

You have a rather vague idea on the conditions in Belarus. I actually quite like it there. It’s clean, safe, food is high quality, decent education etc. I won’t live there because it’s a dictatorship. I’d go back if things change.
FYI I can’t even visit there and have to see my family on the “neutral” territory.
