OP specifically said Estonia to Romania, I would agree with excluding Bulgaria from the group, because in married couples I more often see a fat man with slim woman than the opposite.

I know a guy who had 6 pack right before meeting his wife, now he is like 30 kg up and she is still slim after childbirth. I suspect she overfeeds him and doesn't allow him to play sports so that he will be fat and less attractive to other women. What a devilish tactic.

That's the most basic level of "mate guarding" in evolutionnary psychology. For the longest time in homo sapiens and societies that were never monogamous before the invention of marriage by women and for women through the church (blink of an eye in human history), what better strategy of women to have, for her man to stick around and provide for a longer period of time, than to give him a little extra each meal, so he became less tempting to other women. Everything that has been constant in the last million of years at least, is not evil or cultural, it's just a function of evolution in humans.
Many women that are not even married like a little "dad bod", that is why, deep down it reminds them that. It's even in the terms they ve chosen, not a guy bod, dude bod. Only Dad bod.

It depends a lot on how much kcal you consume and spend daily, that's all. A person who works in field or a lumberjack does not have snacks from vending machine unlike some nerd from Moscow who spends life at front of PC.

It's not Bosna, but Southern Serbia Few of them are chubby, but powerful chubby, not obese.

It is actually men that like bears in a den relax as soon as they marry. Many think their duty is done.
Women, on the other hand, exhibit care and affection by feeding which is actual part of evolution, and do not refuse their wishes, but only at the beginning of marriage. Many gain a few pounds in first years.

Ok. I know that Bosnia is still one of the poorest countries, thus I was wondering were there any differences within the state (regions, cantons).
