I have been on the Greek Islands and those guys looked quite different. Even more than Alboz.

I've been mistaken for a Greek islander many times myself..

In my opinion, Greeks from the mainland often have a very Balkan vibe in common more with Serbs and Bulgarians, but with a slightly more Med look. There are also a lot of people on the mainland also descended from Anatolian and Pontic Greeks who of course look more Anatolian, but they are recent arrivals.

Islanders in my opinion do look more like the ancient Greeks and in common with a substantial chunk of the Sicilian and Calabrese populations -- not all, but a fair amount of overlap.

Ionians have lighter eyes and are shorter. And Cretans have a unique ''Cretan'' face.
But they are a bit more tanned, cause of the sun, obviously.
