Very brunet people indeed:
Even in such a large selection, hair color is black or very dark brown and skin pigmentation is typical of East-Mediteranneans. Probably these guys are mostly leftovers of Neolithic expansion.

That is very possible. y-dna J2 is the most prevalent in Apulia I believe. A lot of them are probably descended from an old Anatolian population.

Summer pics aren't the best. Ofc Apulians are not that dark skinned normally, but I agree that they are among the darkest people of Italy, especially those from the southern part of the region. Who thinks that they are somehow lighter than the other southern Italians obviously doesn't know Italians at all.
