Default Are you more of a parochialist, cosmopolitan or universalist?

Now obviously in the real world it is far less clear-cut and more nuanced, but here goes:

Parochialist: "I am not interested in other languages and cultures".
Cosmopolitan: "The world is full of different languages and cultures and I want to learn about them".
Universalist: "Everybody in the world should speak the same language and have the same culture".

Well unlike me, right now you are writing in a foreign language. (And quite well if I may say so).

English has become a global necessity, essential for jobs and daily life in today's world.

Depends where and when, to an extent. Where did you learn it primarily? Related to the above issue: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/sh...ium-of-English

In short, a combination of formal education and exposure to English outside school. I was always good at English at school. Furthermore, playing video games and watching TV series and movies in English contributed to my English as well. For example, thanks to Age of Empires II, I learned colors in English before my peers when I was a kid. Moreover, I also read a lot of paragraphs and some novels to develop my reading skills in English.

In an ideal world everyone should sound like a rural inbred irish farmer.
