It's not shockingly warm, seeing how it's -5 right now, however both this year and last year's december was quite warm (which is good). Hope it gets warmer soon.

It's a relatively cold winter in central Russia because instead of 0..-5c December there was 8-10 degrees less on average and now it's around -20c. I'm back to South of Russia now where's around +10c at the moment. 0..+10c are normal there in this time with some sudden falls to -5c or raises almost to +18c dependant on wind direction.

A lot depends on humidity. I hate frost, but frost in steppe somewhere in Lugansk or Volgograd with -30c is more bearable than frost in Moscow of -10c.

December here was one of the warmest since measurements exist. First 8 days of January were also above average. This evening cold air will came. Next night and tommorow is expected 5-10 cm of snow in my region. It is expected few cold days in the next period and few with max slightly above 0c, and lowest minimum to -8c as peak of the coldness.

My impression of winters in Northeast US over the last couple of decades is that there are more and more warm spells; the cold is less enduring and less consistent. Less snow overall. Almost every winter feels like a disappointment.

It's so warm in here, 14-15° in the past weeks, im in tee shirt all day inside and barely put on something else to go outside, more as an habit. But winter is finally coming i heard, -40 in the far north.

It feels like the seasons have shifted in time, arriving later.
