I think that will change in the future with the demographic explosion in Africa.

Possibly, but still for now at least Africa remains somewhat more sparsely-populated compared to both Europe and Asia (all those deserts don't help, after all).

If the estimates are correct, by the end of the century the two most populous cities on earth will be in Africa, Lagos in Nigeria and Kinshasa in Congo, each with a metropolitan area of almost 100 million inhabitants. Nigeria will become the third most populous country in the world with around 550 million inhabitants and Congo the fifth, with around 430 million.
