The difference between Northern and Southern India isn’t as great many trolls put it. Ok! Yes, per capita one could say that light-complexioned Indians are more numerous in Northern than Southern India. Nevertheless, please don’t exaggerate there are also quite a few light-complexioned Southern Indian and dark-complexioned Northern Indians. These people are darker than Yemenis not lighter!

This notion that Indians are almost if not as dark as SSAs is a myth. Only a minority of them are, mostly in the south of the country. (The thread title is Yemenis vs Northern Indians). All the same, I'd say that Yemenis are lighter, but only slightly.

The myth is maybe you. Some Indians are even darker than the average SSA ( “as black as tar” ) and many are lighter.

I don't deny that there are some Indians as dark as SSAs, but they are not the majority by any means. I grew up in the most heavily Indian city in the UK, which also has substantial Caribbean and Somali populations, and even my formerly not-very-diverse current city has seen a substantial increase in the number of both South Asians and SSAs in recent years too, so I do speak with experience and authority on this.
