Venezuela is not in the top tier of most European countries in Latam, like Cuba, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, but is not in the bottom of the rank (countries with least European contribution) either. Is more like in an intermediate ranking, along with countries like Colombia and Chile.

At regional level, in most of the Colombian Andes (maybe excepting the Pastuzo region bordering Ecuador), and in the Venezuelan Andes (which is the most Euro mixed part of the country) is also common (just like in the most Euro countries of Latin America) to find many pale, blondish and full Euro passing people with colonial roots, because those Venezuelan/Colombian Andean regions were heavily settled by Spanish/Spanish-descent people since colonial times, and the Spanish contribution outnumbered the Amerindian contribution, making them Euro-leaning mestizo regions with great part of their population being between creole and Euro-mestizo, but in the rest of Venezuela most full Euro passing people (a sizable minority) are people of recent European background mostly found in the middle to upper classes (Venezuela received a substantial recent European immigration (about 1 million) of mostly Spanish, Italian and Portuguese immigrants, and to a less extent German and other Europeans between the late 1940s and 1970s), but yet obviously mixed people with colonial roots, but with some light features like colored eyes or blondish hair tones, despite of still looking mixed, can be found too.

Though less common than in the Venezuelan Andean region, it is still possible to find some few full Euro passing, pale skinned, light eyed and blondish non Andean AND colonial Venezuelans out there. My Venezuelan dad (RIP), without going too far (except from a great grand father of him, who was Italian) was Venezuelan of several generations, and he was a full Euro passing castizo with blondish/chestnut hair and blue eyes (I never tested him, but I infer he was castizo with minor SSA, based on my genetic results and that my mom was a full Spaniard from Spain) and he wasn't from the Andean region but from the deep llanos of Barinas state. The state of Barinas includes the eastern foothills of the Venezuelan Andes as part of its territory, but my dad was from a remote town in the non-Andean part of Barinas (majority of the state). And his three (same mom and dad) brothers were also light brown haired, pale skinned, blue eyed, and full Euro passing like him.

I'm also full Euro passing, pale skinned, light brown (chestnut) haired, and have blue eyes, but in my case I'm half Venezuelan (with lot of Euro ancestry on my Venezuelan paternal side though), but I'm also son of an European immigrant (my Spanish mom). So, in my particular case, I am a mixture of Venezuelan with colonial roots and recent European immigration (my Spanish mom).

Una pregunta sobre Venezuela y Colombia¿Cuantos indígenas habían en ambos países antes de la llegada de los españoles? Lei por ahí que eran aproximadamente 350,000-500,000 en Venezuela y alrededor de 1-2 millones en Colombia¿Esos números te parecen correctos?

ufff! ahi si que no se numeros exactos, tendria que averiguarmelo por intenet (ago que cualquiera puede hacer). Se exactamente lo mismo que tu, aunque tendria sentido que en Colombia hubiesen mas, por que las areas montañosas (y Colombia tiene bastantes mas altas montañas que Venezuela) tengo entendido que concentraban mas densidad de poblacion indigena.

Eso sin embargo no cambia que hoy ambos paises tengan grados de mezcla Amerindia bastante similares en sus respectivas poblaciones (quizas un poco mayor en Colombia) porque asi como en Venezuela habian menos Amerindios a la llegada de los españoles, tambien siempre tuvo (desde epocas coloniales) y tiene incluso hoy, una densidad poblacional mas baja comparada con la de Colombia.
