In climate American south is Subtropical, England/UK is Oceanic, Dalmatia is mostly Med and Poland is continental on the east and moderate continental on the west. Geographically Dalmatia is the most different, because it is mostly karst.

From what you're saying Poland and Dalmatia are nothing alike, but I'd say England and the Southern US are pretty dissimilar too. The South wasn't suited to English settlers in colonial times (unlike New England where they flourished); the fact that it was hard to entice Britons to settle there, and those that came died in droves from disease is the reason they brought in masses of black slaves.
Spoiler!

My mother dislike Pannonian climate, geography and temperament of locals. She like fresh air, stone, bura, donkeys and hills/mountains, instead of humidity, fog and flat ground without any stone. In Dalmatia people are more open and much more talk in public places and she like that, in Pannonia people are quieter and more closed.
She is born literally here (in the village), not in the hospital in Knin as her brother and most of the people or her generation or close from her village.

Village looks lovely. My mother is exactly like yours, she always complained about Panonnia to my father (who was born and grew up there) how there is no air (meaning lack of wind in her mind), too humid, cold, flat and muddy.
She always hated earth plains and prefers karst as well as karst food and plants. She claims she always feels ill in Panonnian lowlands, and hates mud and pigs instead of stone and sheep.
I love Panonnia. But for certain amount of time.
