Medieval Greeks are Greeks. Calling them hellenized whatever is copium, you can just call Mycenaeans hellenized Minoans and so on.

You should use medieval Greek Byzantine references since your ethnogenesis is also medieval.

Greek Byzantine or Eastern Roman empire was just that, an empire. Why does Greek get to stick and with other empires it doesn't?
