In the United States it can be near impossible to know at times, unless you're actually close to someone

I recently was "tricked" in the opposite way: I became friends with a gay boy in my class. He does runway fashion modeling and comes to school wearing pearl necklaces and very feminine clothing. He also speaks with a high pitched voice to people. When he befriended me on the first day of school, he lowered his voice, became more masculine acting, and asked me to get ice cream with him and come over to his house everyday. He also tells everyone that I'm his flower and posts photos of me on his social media (where I am not even friends with him). I found out that he has a crush on me but has only ever openly liked boys :o

I don't ask anything and have never asked anyone about their sexual orientation. I just know. The way they socialize among men or interact in typical male chit-chat is usually "off", even when they don't have feminine mannerisms, which is the most obvious sign. My workplace has certain areas with a significant turnover of employees, around 20 leaving and 20 joining each year, and it's at work that I mostly interact with some of these people that I happen to think they are not straight. We also have a disproportionate number of colleagues who are women, about ten female colleagues for every male colleague. I don't want to sound sexist (I am guessing it will) but I and most of my other male colleagues don't really enjoy working with so many women. You'd expect straight men to love working around lots of women, but it's usually the opposite. Not that they're bad colleagues or less professional (they're not) but women are more competitive with each other, which always makes the working environment more strained. The colleagues I think are gay, on the other hand, don't seem to have any problem being cooped up for eight hours in an office with twenty women; on the contrary, they even seem to enjoy it.

Bi's less obvious, the Bi thing seemingly can just be a choice just look at what happens in prison where many engage in Bi behaviour , ok some those probably didnt have much choice.

In day to day interactions its not something i think about much but sometimes I see something in someone that I might think
that person could be Bi , with females its bit easier to see because I think in Western society they care less to hide it and its more common to see females holding hands or dancing together, even girls kissing each other is not seen as being too unusual. I think non dyke bi women have a certain
radiant sexuality ...you can tell they have a sex drive and not suprised they could do Bi stuff.

I do think majority of women have bisexual tendencies. I have a bisexual female cousin that as a teenager she dated many girls but now Is married with a man and has children.
