I've kept all the GCs from my mother's side and also gained another one North Tipperary which is correct as that is where she is from.

My daughter has gained a baffling new GC so I'm presuming it is from her father's side. She has a first cousin from that side who doesn't have this GC so I'm not sure where it comes from yet.

I'm a bit non-plussed about the Northern Ireland and Scotland GCs? I'm presuming from her father's side but their ancestry is Wexford and Dublin.

I have a first cousin on Ancestry on my father's side and his GCs are the following:

I'm very interested to see if my brother will pick up some the of the GCs from my father's side which I've missed out on.
I've finally got my brother's results although officially they still aren't posted but I just changed the insights to origins and they are there. He has got a community from my father which I didn't get.

Looks like Communities has been updated for many. Got my Cumbrian, happy that Ancestry has taking a step forward, this reflects a large chunk of my ancestry.

A couple of changes of nomenclature that reflects my ancestry. All of my English great great Grandparents (born 1840s-70s) were born in Staffordshire.

When they updated they got rid of my Cornish community, specific to the district of Kerrier in Cornwall. Now there is nothing to specifically suggest my ancestry there. This makes no sense as I have a paper trail that connects me to many recent ancestors who are all from Camborne and Redruth in Cornwall, two cities both in what was Kerrier. I have verifiable genetic and written documentation of my ancestry there, and yet Ancestry no longer reflects this. My surprise is doubled by the fact that 23&Me did not trace me to their South West England region, and placed ancestry of mine in specific communities of southwestern Ireland and northwestern Wales where I have no recent ancestors reflected in any written documentation. It is puzzling also because Ancestry shows that I have comparatively little (7% and 5%) DNA from Ireland and Wales. And no the Cornish ancestors do not have any apparent Irish or Welsh admixture, I can trace back four centuries of documentation with ancestors all either in Cornwall or Devon, and other branches of my family do not lead to Ireland or Wales. Confusing and frustrating.

How far back is your Cornish ancestry? I believe that beyond your parents genetic inheritance is random, so you may not have inherited much Cornish blood, or as much as your paper trail says.

It’s my great grandmother, but it is strange that the community would be so specific in its accuracy and then remove it. She was from Camborne, which is the center of the specific community of Kerrier where Ancestry traced my DNA to before the update. I also have a strong affinity to my grandfather’s DNA, so it makes sense that it would come through.
