Because Germans who mourned their dead have been attacked for doing so for decades. It was "taboo" and remains so to a degree. It has nothing to do with taking shots at others.

My mistake. Before I came to Apricity I was at GW forum. There Dresden and the like were used as weapons whilst the allies were treated as scum or at best the allied dead disrespected.

I suppose I'm so used to Dresden being used as anti-allies, anti-American/British/USSR/ et al... propaganda.

I don't like the one-sidedness of it all. Mainstream history teaches that the axis was inherently evil whilst at the other extreme neo-National Socialists slander the allies.
I think we need less bullshit and to just accept what happened on both sides instead of arguing about who was right or wrong.
