Default Examples in the Old World where a more southern group is fairer than a more northern group

    (1) Germans vs British. Despite having a more southerly latitude, Germans are blonder than the British by around 10-15 percentage points.
    (2) Gulf Arabs vs Pakistanis. Pakistan is actually to the north of Yemen, Oman and even much of Saudi Arabia, yet aside from some Iranic groups, Pakistanis are certainly darker than Saudis and at least equally dark as Yemenis.

South east English than Welsh? lol that probably is true, also i would say Dutch are fairer than the Baltic peoples and possibly Poles, some Balkan peoples are likely lighter than northern Italians and the northern Spanish, Also probably many middle eastern groups might be higher in lightness in places south than north i.e some Lebanese might surpass some Turks in lightness, also Lurs in Iran, Kalash in Pakistan.

I don't think the Dutch are lighter than Estonians at least. And apart from some Druze and Samaritans (and AJs of course), most Levantines are darker than most Turks.

Pigmentation of Brits and Germans is more or less the same.

According to XenophobicPrussian's and Supercomputer's studies, Germans are slightly blonder than Brits, but Brits are slightly lighter eyed. (Also more redheads among Brits than among Germans)

Skin color is probably the same more or less, but I'd say British skin color is slightly lighter.

Latvians and some Lithuanians are more brunet than Northern Germans and Russians according to Bertil Lundman.

The map is per 1940 so the area of what is now Northern Poland was inhabited by ethnic Germans.

Not all Germans groups have a lighter average hair color than the British at large. Beddoe found that Cologne and London at roughly similar latitudes had a comparable indexes of nigrescence. Of course unlike Cologne Victorian London was not just representative of the Southeast English environs but rather quite mixed British. It is really primarily Northwest Germans (Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein) that have clearly lighter average hair color than British tending more to fair or light brown than chestnut.

I think it was Beddoe or Ripley who said that Zurich even is quite comparable to London in hair pigmentation, Cologne I think is basically midway between the northern and southern regions of Germany.

Beddoe found an index of nigrescence of 26 for London and Cologne. Zurich was slightly darker with an index of 27. Swiss populations have more genetic isolation due to the mountainous terrain so latitude trends are weaker. Some Swiss cantons are unusually blond for Central Europe while others are much darker. Swiss people are also more red-haired (Schlaginhaufen found 2.82% Fischer-Saller I-VI among Swiss recruits) than all surrounding populations. Germany and Britain are not nearly as mountainous so are better comparisons.

Lebanese are also lighter than Assyrians, Kurds and Iranians too. Assyrians and Kurds live about 300 miles further north than Lebanese even though both of their topographies are very similar (Mountainous).
