Default Portugal Won 31 Awards At The Tourism Oscars

In the ceremony of the gala of the European World Travel Awards (WTA), held this Wednesday, 6th of March... and Portugal shined mightily, seizing a grand total of 31 awards.

Portugal, increasingly renowned as an international tourist destination, dazzled at the European gala of the World Travel Awards (WTA), held this Wednesday, 6th of March, in Berlin (Germany).

In its 'luggage,' Portugal brought back some hefty distinctions. For instance, Madeira was elected, for the tenth time, as the best island destination in Europe, and Porto Santo was deemed the best beach destination.

In the list of European winners, available for perusal here (https://www.worldtravelawards.com/winners/2024/europe) Porto was crowned the best seaside metropolitan destination. Lisbon, on the other hand, clinched the title of the best urban destination, and Braga, the lovely capital of Minho, was acclaimed as the best emerging destination.

Moreover, in the category of tourist attractions and projects, Portugal received several awards. For example, the spectacular Paiva Walkways (best adventure tourist attraction), and the Dark Sky Alqueva (recognized as the best tourist attraction and best responsible tourism project).
