I don't watch them because they are not on here until hours after the Oscars have finished and all the awards are known. To watch live it would be 6am here. I was just interested to see if Cillian would win and also wanted Christopher Nolan to get his first Oscar. Most people don't care about them and they are far too long anyway.

There is too many options for people now. Oscars used to be all you could watch in the past and there was a lot more mystique about actors. Actors didn't help themselves in the past with lecturing people. They are not the ones who should be lecturing people as they are largely hypocrites and just go with what's in fashion. There is still a niche interest though and they should just put it on some streaming service where people that are interested can watch it live.
