Some Sri Lankans are not much darker than Pakistanis though, people forget that Sri Lanka isn't completely very dark.

I have friends that are "Anglo-Indian" but the vast majority of their ancestry is Indian. They do have some European and I wish my friend would get a dna test as that would be interesting. Her brother married an Australian girl and all the girls are blond with blue and green eyes. Two girls you would not know they had Indian ancestry but the youngest just in some features but people would have trouble picking her exact ancestry. Also a sister married a Polish man and the kids both had green eyes and dark blond hair. So I can see it happening. Possibly father might have some small amount of European ancestry. I know quite a lot of people who have an Indian grandparent and look just typical Australian. Indian, Maori and Aboriginal gets diluted fairly quickly when they marry Europeans.
