Here's some pictures from a cursory google search of Newcastle in Northeast England.

I just don't see an enormous difference in these people compared to people from Omagh.

There are differences between populations of course but some of this is very exaggerated and this is especially the case if you post crowd pictures.

Here are a couple of ones from Omagh for comparison.

Charles meeting people at Omagh Hospital.

What I maintain is that Irish look most like people from Britain and aren't enormously different. I know using British Isles is frowned upon in Ireland but they are just a British Isles population. I really can't imagine that being something controversial to say but who knows on here.

My guess is that there might be a similar thing in Australia. Maybe they just kicked our special breed out of the four countries.
Oliver mentioned Australian High Schoolers I posted, do they fit in the US?

They look more American than the British Isles people do. They're like the missing link between them and us, likely because we have more people of Continental European descent who are still in the Northwest European category. Some guys have a "slim-skulled" look that's relatively rare here. It sometimes seems like we have more robust musculoskeletal systems, and I'm not talking about fat people.

It could be that our youth get more minerals and vitamins from beef and milk, so they have sturdier bones. That may be the case with Australian youth too (if it's not vegemite sandwiches). Of course, I could be way off the mark when it comes to dietary influences. It could all just be a trick of my mind since I know that they're not Americans.

Hurling and Gaelic football teams are the best examples because it filters out all the east Europeans.

Also the photos of students are been taken indoors. Lighting can change the colour of hair especially for people in the Irish range.

Yes I agree about GAA. That is what I mostly use. Also crowd pictures are good because then you see the range of hair colouring. Using selections of a few people is not generally indicative of what most people look like. I'm sure there were students who have more variety of hair colouring in that school. The Irish of course are quite varied especially in hair colour and yes if outdoors and in sunlight a lot of people's hair colour will look different than inside and in setting where it is overcast and with no sunlight.

These are some of the students from the same school that were posted on the first page.

I do agree though that Irish are darker haired than the English on average but they aren't uniformly as dark as some on here try to portray them. I also think they are closer to West Scottish in looks than English.

No, the clubs colours are blue and yellow so I think it's a coincidence. Also the flag on the left are the colours of Offaly GAA, not the Irish flag (similar but slightly different).

It's actually the flag for Longford GAA so not Ukrainian but yes it looks similar.

Newcastle has a large student population, many from southern England there too, i would personally use somewhere like Scarborough or Berwick upon Tweed, those girls who were unfortunate enough to meet Charles might be from a Protestant school.
