These were European values, we have nothing to do with Asia. In most extreme cases one girl was beaten by her dad when she got a B grade. But this was not common nor normal.

I had falling math grade at winter mid semester in gymnasium once, mother beat me up when she learned that and locked me in the toilet.

    I never failed math again.

I read somewhere that the main difference between Asian (principally NE Asian) and Western cultures is that the former mainly are based on shame while the latter are based mainly on guilt. In other words, how well or badly you do or behave reflects heavily onto your family and community in a way that is substantially less true in the West.

You can only produce retards that way.
In German youth football they now introduced a no winner strategy, how insane is that?

I just came home from my niece birthday and played soccer with my nephew and his friend, I completely crush him to make him competitive instead of let him win.
I bet a modern German woke teacher would call this fascist.

What do you mean by 'no winner strategy'? That losing matches has no consequence for either the player or the team?

Insteading of reading hundreds and hundreds of pages of useless literature students should be taught information technology and something like that.
I agree, novels are worthless. They are for entertainment not for education. If someone finds them cool, they should read them in their free time. They might as well make us watch movies. There are many more usueful non-fiction books than stuff like Romeo and Juliet or whatever. I went to a "good high school" and 80-90% of students in my class did not read those "mandatory novels", we just read the shortened versions secretly, in some cases I did not even read those. We did not miss anything important.

I actually like reading topics that interest me (psychology and other science based books), novels are waste of time. I like books that provide me with information that I can use in real life. When I was a high schooler I thought reading was something bad and boring because I thought that reading = reading novels due to education sytem.

Sources for that. And yes, China invests heavily in research and development, which is commendable. Question is though, how many of the Chinese researchers are going to stay in China.

Meanwhile west Universities promote gender studies and affirmative action and want to simplify math because it is racist.
I heard about that. Of course, mathematicians laugh in their faces. Or rather, we just outright ignore them.

East Asians copied almost entire modern scientific and tech sector from the west and went on to perfect it. They aren't as creative and they have lower amount of people with brilliant IQ than whites (but also lower amount of idiots)
I'm talking about the current situation. It doesn't matter if their academic apparatus is influenced by ours; it's them who excel in that sector (that's not to say we don't, most scientists worldwide are still white). Stretch this reasoning a bit and you're in the renaissance12 sector, claiming that everything Northern Europeans achieved, Southern Europeans either did it first or taught them how to do it.

Not all novels are on the same level. Not even close. People that don't understand and appreciate art...oh...what to say, they are just a shell.

Same goes for people that reject science, technology development.... Worthy human being can and must do both.

For example, I had to read a book about the assault on Nancy Kerrigan the summer before my freshman year. Why would that be considered of any importance? Some books were fine: books by Mark Twain and Richard Wright.

Also throughout the year, we didn't read many books. I have to think it was worse in a public school.
Europeans appear "more intelligent and knowledgable" about the outside world than Americans because in Europe you can travel 5 for hours by car and pass through 3 countries with different languages not because they had to read useless novels like Romeo and Juliet in high school. When you are in USA you can travel for days by car and still be in the same country, this is impossible in Europe, that is why Europeans have more of an international outlook than Americans.

Where in real life can I use knowledge provided by novels?
