It was obviously way better than nowadays in most ways, but the music (apart from early 90`s Black Metal and a few other things) was absolutely horrible.

Personal computers were so bulky back then. Remember Compaq? And the 1990s was the birth of the Internet for the masses.



Laptops were improving too!





Windows was so much simpler and better in the 1990s (aside from viruses),
I still have computers with Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP (not connected to the Internet), no new Windows since the early 2000s.
Microsoft and Bill Gates were still predators, but not the monstrosities they are today!

That desktop looks more year 2000ish. A typical 1990's desktop would have looked more like this:

My first time trying the internet was in 1996. A friend showed me how to get an email address from Yahoo on the public library computer. At the time, my favorite group was Metallica. Back then the library staff held my ID until I was finished with their computer. I joined the Metallica Club in 1997.

I didn't get my first home computer (a laptop) until 2006.

I didn't see any of the independent films of the 1990's.

Those are nostalgic too. (The Compaq Presario 5204 was introduced in 1998, came with Windows 98)

I still have several laptops from the 1990s (and 1980s, glorified typewriters),
and some desktop computers from the late 1990s

The first flat monitor was the SGI 1600 SW (1600x1200), introduced in 1999
Used with the Silicon Graphics 02 (Unix) computer introduced in 1996

So you are part of a subculture, right? Was 90s American alternative rock too soft for you?

One band i never missed any concert in 1998 - 2012. period.
Im very sad singer passed away, they liked coming to Serbia too, and gigs were just amazing.
