Although the Irish don't descend from Anglo-Saxons, phenotypically were Anglo-Saxons closer to the Irish than to the English?

The closer proximity of the Anglo-Saxon average to the Irish average is purely coincidental, given that both have slightly more Steppe and less EEF than the English average. However, this does not imply in any way that the Irish are more Anglo-Saxon than the English. The fact that there have also been migratory movements from the continent to England in the last 1000 years further complicates the picture.

this is not as extensive as this does not cover the samples specifically from early anglo saxon settlers from around 500-early 700, those samples are closest to modern day danes, norweigans and dutch or icelandics, not modern day English, also g25 also says they are closest to scandanvians and dutch in comparison to the irish

No phenotypically the Anglo - Saxons are of Germanic cast ( Nordids with a good tendency for blonde hair and blue eyes). Genetically both the Irish and Anglo-Saxons are very Northern European. They both have less genes from non - Northern European origin.

Change the NordiDs with NordiCs and we're good. Take a stroll through Lower Saxony (who happens to be the direct descendants of the Anglo Saxons) and you'll find a huge amount of CMs.

I had no problem with what you said about Norwegians. But you also claimed that Global 25 says that the Anglo-Saxons are closer to the Dutch than to the Irish which is false. There is nothing to discuss about Norwegians anymore other than that they themselves are closer to the Irish than to the Dutch.
