they are in high schools and universities, and i dont think taxpayers paid them to be on the streets, everyone can be on the streets with a flag. Why would you assume taxpayers paid those youngsters to go out on the streets?

Lions of Breda Solini was a battalion of Italian partisans from the Mantua region, exclusively composed of Italian Sinti who had escaped from the Prignano sulla Secchia concentration camp (in the province of Modena), where they were confined in September 1940.

Giacomo "Gnugo" De Bar, an Emilian Sinti, was imprisoned as a child along with his family in the concentration camp of Prignano sulla Secchia, in the province of Modena, in September 1940. With the armistice of September 8, 1943, his family managed to escape from the concentration camp, and along with other Italian Sinti families from Northern Italy, they joined the partisan brigades from the autumn of 1943.

Many Sinti were partisans. For example, my cousin Lucchesi Fioravante was with the Armando division, but many of us who performed during the day also went out at night to take weapons from the Germans. My father and Uncle Rus came back home in 1945, and they too at night joined other Sinti to carry out actions against the Germans in the area between Breda Salini and Rivarolo del Re (now Rivarolo Mantovano), where we traveled with the wagon that my grandfather had equipped. They were almost a legend, and the people in the villages nicknamed them "The Lions of Breda Solini", perhaps also for that time when they disarmed a patrol of the German vanguard.

The partisan brigade was formed by the De Bar circus family (grandfather Jean was a contortionist and Uncle Rus was an acrobat), who, from their performances in the squares during the day, turned into fighters at night, carrying out sabotage actions against the Germans: they traveled with an equipped truck, stealing weapons and ammunition from them to supply the partisans. The formation operated on the border between Mantua, Modena, Reggio Emilia, and Cremona, especially in the area between Breda Solini and Rivarolo del Re (currently Rivarolo Mantovano). Considered heroes by the locals for using violence only when necessary, they were nicknamed the Lions of Breda Solini after an action in which they disarmed a patrol of the German vanguard.

They had entered into the hearts of the people as heroes, also because they used violence only when absolutely necessary. Among us Sinti, there was never a desire for war, an instinct to kill a man just because he was an enemy. This was known even to a fascist in Breda Solini who, during the Liberation, barricaded himself in his house with an arsenal of weapons, threatening to shoot anyone who approached or to kill himself by blowing up the whole house: "I'll surrender only to the Lions of Breda Salini". So went my parents, to whom he surrendered, but then he was taken into custody by other partisans, who locked him in a cellar and beat him up.
