    Default The Gagauz Turkic people of Moldova

    The Gagauz people are Turkic speaking group living mostly in southern Moldova (Gagauzia), southwestern Ukraine (Budjak), south-eastern Romania (Dobrogea)[8] and northeastern Bulgaria. Unlike most other Turkic speaking people, the Gagauz are predominantly Orthodox Christians. There is a related ethnic group also called Gagavuz (or Gajal) living in the European part of northwestern Turkey.

    Is there really a difference between them and ethnic Romanians(other than language that is)? They look(and dress) like ethnic Romanians.

    Only some actually look Turkic, but the dress is certainly distinct from ours. Have a look here.
