More specifically the man to look to is Prime Minister Lord North; the Coercive Acts with the idea that Boston must be brought to heel or all was lost. The Boston Port Act though punished the whole city for the actions of the Boston Tea Party.

George III was arrogant but Lord North's incompetence lost the colonies.

My ancestors (Spaniards) were the first European colonists that discovered the Americas and the other side of my ancestry (Natives) have been living in this land for thousands of years before any immigrants from the old world arrived here. I'm as American as a WASP, if not moreso.
