Default What is your opinion on non-Whites practicing European paganism (Asatru, Rodnovery, etc)?

For example, if an Arab or Assyrian were to start practicing Asatru (Germanic paganism) or Rodnovery (Slavic paganism) or any other form of European paganism, would you find it insulting in any way? Do you find it to be cultural appropriation? Or do you not care about it one bit?

European neo-paganist ideologies seem to be more of an expression of indigenous European culture and are different from Christianity/Islam in that they are tied to the history/identity of specific cultural groups rather than supposed to be a universalist word of truth. So I'm wondering if any Whites/Euros here see a non-White trying to practice their people's form of heathenism to be a form of cultural appropriation or whatever.

FYI, I am not interested in it in case anyone was wondering that. I was just curious what you guys would think about it since this place has a lot of White/European nationalists.

Edit: This poll is just meant for Europeans/Whites. I'm curious if any of them view it as cultural appropriation or anything close to that.

Asatru and Rodnovery are a billion times more similar to Hinduism than either is to Christianity/Islam.

Hinduism is the folk religion for Indians, and is also "pagan".

But I would say yes. A non-white practicing Asatru or Rodnovery would be as odd as a White person becoming Hindu.

Why would an Arab/Assyrian practice Asatru or Rodnovery in the first place anyway?

I think the biggest insult would be to their ancestors.

Hinduism isn't comparable since it's a living breathing religion with hundreds of millions of followers whereas European neo-paganism is promoted for Europeans as a form of a cultural revivalist movement.

If he were doing that it means he's willing to respect the culture and genuinely admires it. At least, potentially, it needs to be assessed more closely. He could also have been a perv who saw a sauna video of women and men being naked together.

They find the culture very intriguing, view it with mystique, etc.

It would probably be rare for one to exist, but there are a few billion non-Whites on this planet.

Of course an Arab woman who's into that is fine. #hypocrisyformyabovecomment

It would be very weird. I would rather worship to old Arabian and other Semitic gods and goddesses than being adherent to beliefs that are culturally incompatible to mine.
