Welsh, who are they closer to: Spanish or Germans?

Basques

Basques are actually a genetic outlier in Europe (and so are the Sardinians to some extent), the Welsh are actually closer to the Spanish than they are to the Basque. They both have high levels of R1b, but for the most part they are different types of R1b, so the connection is a bit of a misconception.

I don't know know what the hell kind of romatnic "swarthy" dream people have about here of the Welsh, but they are the same race as the British with perhaps a tiny percentage more inclination Atlantid...most of the dark ones (Ryan Giggs, Tom Jones) are result of Afro immigration work in the coal mines, which mixed with the indig. pop.

I would say they are closer to Germans, most Welsh are not swarthoids that we commonly think of.

I dont think its productive to talk in terms of nations. Maybe specific phenotypes. The Welsh north atlantids are probably closer to nordid than meditteranid.

Sometimes you have to wonder about the intelligence of people. Even in 2008 there was the Novembre study and yet here we have people putting Welsh as closer to Spanish than other Northwestern Europeans?? Yes Welsh are closer to Germans than Spanish which should not be a surprise as they cluster with Irish and British folks. Is there some logic disconnect here? What I would find interesting is why people would think that Welsh would be closer to Spanish people? It would be interesting if people would explain the logic of this?
