* "Frank" and "French" are by far the most productive :
- François, Franz, Francesco, Francisco, Francis, Frances etc.
- Françoise, France, Francette, Francine
- Frank, Franco, Franjo, Ferenc etc.
* From "German":
- Germain (fr), Germano (it/es), Dieter (de), what else?
Russian Gherman is a derivate of German or Herrmann?
* Scott (en, self-explanatory)
* Norman (en), Normand (fr, popular in Canada, less common in France)
* Roman, Romain, Romano
* Sabine, Sabina (in conformity with the Roman legend, Romano is almost always masculine, while Sabine is almost always feminine!)
Do you know others I'm not aware of?
[ No, Sven is not related to svensk)
EDIT :
- OOps, I forgot Italo, strongly associated to the "Risorgimento", now desperately old-fashioned.
- Lorraine doesn't count, it is used in French as a feminine for Lothaire (fr) or Lothar (de) which gave the province Lorraine/Lothringen its name.
