The most common eye color in the British Isles is blue! In Britain, Blond hair is found in 25% , 7% have red hair, 40% light/medium brown/chestnut, only 3.1% have black hair and the rest have dark brown hair. Most of the brown hair has a golden/reddish tinge to it.
In Ireland, hair color 13% blonde, 10% red, 31% light/medium brown/chestnut/auburn, 36% darker hair. More than 80% have light eyes (blue+green). The golden tinge in brown hair has a higher frequency than in Britain.
    Corrections Ireland is 23% blonde!

The Welsh are quite an homogenous ethnic group, descending largely from indigenous CMs (Borreby/Brunn) mixed with Aryans. Among former, children are all blond or at least blondish (with a minority of reds), but in adulthood hair darkens a lot. Elvis Presley would be a fine example of this trend: platinum haired as child, almost black haired as adult. Among Aryans (all Corded types in Wales), a significant minority remains blond in adulthood (as can be seen in last picture where all the blond guys look Aryan).
Yes, there has been a great exaggeration of the so-called "Welsh darkness" by many. The Welsh as a whole might score less blond than the more eastern regions of England which were more impacted genetically by Angles, Jutes, Saxons who came from Denmark and northernmost parts of North Germany region but is not less blue-eyed by any means. The most common single eye color among the Welsh is blue, thus blond hair is common and not as rare as some state. At 45%, Wales is closer to that of the Denmark average(50.9%), considerably higher than that of Belgium(28.9%) and more than twice that of the France average(20.2%). Wales is clearly a Northern European country.

A good estimation for Ireland would be:

    2,5% black hair
    37% dark brown hair
    35% medium to light brown
    16% blond
    4% red
    6% reddish

blue eyes: 40%,light mixed eyes 35%,20% hazel eyes,5% brown eyes
No over 80% of The Irish have light/light mixed eyes, and over 50% have blue eyes!

Come on think. Wales is not Italy! 8% is way too low and an exaggeration for Wales or any country in the British Islands. Not even northern Italian regions have an average of 8% for blond hair, O.K.! Unless you meant "Nordic" blond maybe. Just think if Wales is 8% blond then how much France 5%? How about Spain or Italy? 1 or 0.7% maybe. That sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

Away with the rootless statements! Every European nation is diverse. Belgium is very diverse. You and your bunch posting only Britons who aren't blond won't change facts.

Statistics tend to get boring, but yes every country is diverse that is all I was saying. They may be rootless statements but just anecdotal observations. You can stick with the statistics that stuff bores me.

Yes, the most common eye colour in North-West Europe is blue as in the second picture, you posted. In the British Isles as confirmed by the Blue Eye Project and the ScotlandDNA Project in 2014. It is also the most common in the Netherlands. The frequency of blue eyes in the Central England region (50%) is almost identical to that of the Denmark average ( 50.9%), though Denmark is blonder-haired than England as a whole.
