    Algerians are basically mulattos... though their Caucasoid component is likely similar to Iberians + Some significant Arab imput. Their west Asian does not seem to be much and makes sense (they wouldn't fit the Northern Middle east either.)

    Paleo-African means pigmy ancestry in this case... Neo-African Bantu like Yoruba.. East African refers to Masaai and things like that.

    If there had been no Phoenician invasion, no Arab invasion and no mixing with Subsaharan populations, and today North African countries where Med coastal populations speaking Romance languages, there is a chance that Northern Africans looked closer to Southern Europeans.

    It's safe to say Phoenicians looked similar to the modern day Levantines, who can pass as Europeans most of the time. That's a good thing too, seeing as how Phoenicians colonized parts of Europe.

    Phoenicians in Europe had trade colonies for the most part. Only in Northern Africa the trade colony developed into an important civilization, the Carthaginian, so the impact had to be way stronger.
