Barely noticeable differences. And referring to "ethnicity", absolutely the same people with some slight differences in speech/accent/personal mannerisms.

I think Anglo-Americans and Anglo-Canadians could be said to be of the same ethnic group, more or less. Their ancestry and culture are nearly identical, although there are some slight differences. A better question might be, are Anglo-North Americans that different from Brits?

Both populations have similar averages of European backgrounds, the main difference being that there are more German ancestry among white US North Americans, as a whole, and there is more French ancestry among white Canadians, as a whole.
But you cannot describe them as being one ethnic group, or two ethnic groups (white Americans and white Canadians) because they both have different peoples of different mindsets, to begin with.

Ethnicity? No. Too many ethnic groups in both nations.
Meta-ethnicity? You might argue Anglo. But even that is questionable.
