Ancestors of mine must had been mercenaries
There were actually many Estonians recruited to the supply forces of Swedish army during the Swedish era in Estonia. Also there were Estonian free men (the ones not bound by serfdom) who sometimes served as mercenaries. And since the Swedes used a lot of mercenaries in all of their wars, they were the easiest employers to find.

If your guess is true and your roots are somehow tied to Estonia, then I think the best bet would be The Great Northern War and the Swedish campaign through all Poland and to Ukraine that ended with the Battle of Poltava 1709.

I know that there is 30-40% russians and 1% ukrainians/belorussians. In Estonia, but didnt know that estonians look like polish

In Europe, R1a, again almost entirely in the R1a1a sub-clade, is found at highest levels among peoples of Eastern European descent (Sorbs, Poles, Russians and Ukrainians; 50 to 65%).In the Baltic countries R1a frequencies decrease from Lithuania (45%) to Estonia (around 30%).

Also 16% central and southern russians have finno-ugric genes. 30% russians in few northern russian citys have finno-ugric genes.

And there is around 5 millions of native finno-ugric ppl - i.e Mordvins,Moksha,Karelians etc (not slavs) in Russia.

It makes it more the strange that my family came from Galicia (Austrian Empire) and not the Russian Empire, yet I'll accept this origin thesis.

It makes little difference since all my family lines are either culturally or ethnic Ukrainian.

The name can be just a coincidence since Estonians started having real "Estonian" last names quite recently. And many have German and Scandinavian names that have been Estonianized.

Unless you have actually talked about your last name with an Estonian, I wouldnt really count on any real information.

Actually i don't like blond and extreme pale people, thats why i don't like how scandinavians looks. I find them quite cold and unattractive but there is something different with the look of these Estonian blonds, redheads which makes them look attractive and warm.

    These are beautiful people.
