I'm a coastal lab and both my parents have Gheg surnames, there might be something in this theory, I'd like to know more.

Fieri has many Chams too, after 1945 it became one of their main settlements.

As Flintlocke mentions there are Labs with Gheg and Catholic surnames, more specifically these are surnames typical of the Mirdita region. They're Tosks however, it might just be due to migration from the North, those becoming Lab/Tosk afterwards.

Well, there has always been a connection and mutual respect between vlora and shkodra historically, unilke anyother two places in albania considering how far apart geographivlcaly.

Labs (Labet) may have any connection with Labeat ( large Illyrian tribes in today Montenegro). Same goes for Llapet or Llapjanet (Northeastern Kosovars).
