You can't really talk about the Anglophone world without including Scots or Irish since they had an important part to play in settling and shaping it.

The SNP loves to downplay Scottish involvement when it suits them (such as on denouncing slavery) but then stands up and takes applause when they speak of Scotland's positive role. One notes that it is only ever the positive aspects of empire that are Scottish, when the empire is doing bad things it was England / London / Westminster.

Think about it - Australia had Lachlan Macquarie (Scottish), its version of Robin Hood is Ned Kelly (Irish) whilst its discoverer James Cook (of the decent bits anyway) was of Scottish and English parents.
