He does make good points, one has to say. However he totally ignores the fact that Arab-Americans/Canadians are basically a role model minority. They have become successful in all fields. However the Arabs in Europe are a different story, in part that they come from the low classes and have a system that turns them into dependent on various type of aids. No that's almost true of all North Africans present in Europe, however not true of Middle Easterners. He is of North African origins, and the problem that I have with it, is he is speaking about North Africans but generalizing it on the other Arab or Middle Easterners when this could not be further from the truth. In the U.S since Arabs are classified as White, they lack benefit and affirmative action, which has actually made them to be one of the most successful ethnic groups around here. North African issues should be North African issues that's my honest point of view and opinion. The Arabs here are often doctors, nurses, dentists, teacher, lawyers, and businessmen.

I would not say so, he is generalizing to a large degree, and he putting like I have said North African situation on other Arabs like Levantines and Arabians.

Well in the New World there pretty successful, and many are becoming such, I believe this was and is positive step. Not all of them are enemies of the West or are aggressive, that's a media hype, Arabs are known for their hospitality to all kinds of people even to strangers it's in their traditions. However self-criticism like this should be encouraged among Middle Eastern and North African communities so they can fix their problems and be on the road to success. Arab-American/Canadians thankfully have been successful and have tried to do their best to contribute in a positive and meaningful manner to their newly adopted homes.

You are right about the social distinction between Arab immigrants in North America and Europe, but I think that if a large number of, e.g., low class Egyptians came to live in a Western country, the problems would be probably worse than with Moroccans or Algerians.

Anyway, otherwise he is spot on. I think that Arabs generally feel so much empowered by Islam that this pride numbs their sense of self-criticism to a large degree, so many glorify and idealize their own history and culture and blame others (the "West" and Zionists) for the dire state of the Arab world.
