The pronunciation looks the same to me. Estou is /ʃto/ (shto) and it means "I am", what does it mean in Russian

'What'.

And 'that' in the meaning:

I know it gonna sound weird but it sounds kinda Slavic to me.

One can confuse with Russian especially from a distance because of:

-falling intonation
-reduced vowels in unaccented position (albeit Russians don't swallow them completely like Portuguese quite often do)
- stress timing
- similar vowels & consonants inventory (no nasal vowels in Russian though)
- sibilants occur frequently forming superficially similar clusters.

European Portuguese can also remind generic Slavic speech despite being Romance language, or even my language - Polish. Interesting case of convergent evolution in some aspects. I remember watching some Portuguese TV show from Portugal and thinking that it sounds oddly familiar but I can't understand a word.

I really like the sound of Portuguese and how you can express yourself with it (to my limited knowledge).

I'll not read the whole thread, so I'm not sure if someone already told that, but: I don't think "slavic vibe" is because of S sound at all, since, in Brazil, the only group that have a S sound like Portugal are people from Rio de Janeiro, and yet, I know many Brazilians outside RJ that even when speaking English they got questions like "Is Russian your native language? Because your accent..."
