Correct me if I'm wrong, but green eye pigmentation is intermediate/mixed between blue and brown. Blue eyes are an adaptation to a low sunlight enviroment, so green eyes could be an adaptation(and thus, common) in environments that are intermediate between low sunlight(British Isles, Scandinavia, Northern Russia) and the high sunlight of the Mediterranean...

When I see you describing hazel eyes I get that those arent mine, but not even green grass eyes , which obviously describes the so- called "" celtic green"...
Mine are comletely olive green so which colour of common desrcibing is that?

I've got no brown in my eyes whatsoever, as well.
If they are uniform, olive or lighter, I guess they're called ... green.

Green eyes have their own allele, as do brown and blue. Green eyes will only show up if the person carries green and blue alleles but not brown.

A green allele is dominant over a blue allele, and a brown allele is dominant over both green and blue alleles. For the bey 2 gene if a person has a brown allele then they will have brown eyes. In the gey gene the green allele is dominant over the blue allele, but it is still recessive next to a brown allele. For example if a person has a brown allele on chromosome 15, but all the other alleles are blue or green, they will have brown eyes. A green eyed person would have a green allele on chromosome 19 and all or some other blue alleles. Blue eyes are produced only with two blue eye genes. All four alleles must be blue to produce a blue eyed person.

My eyes are half-green, so I guess Im half-almost-nordic. Yay. Although atleast i think they are half green half brown.

I think I have some serious central heterochromia going on. In Estonia however, my eyes are considered brown.

It is only an evidence of where we live .majority makes the rules ...
In my country your eyes clasiffy like "light eyed" ,and if persone is ashe blonde to light brown haired it is an " blond/e of ours" ...
Mine are realy clear olive ..

Talvi is certainly light-eyed, but not green-eyed.

Half of the people who claim to have green eyes.. or whose eyes people consider green... i dont find green at all.
Like the above post. Maybe half of those are actually green. Some id consider blue and one pair hazel.
