Yes that's what happens when people want to invade your country. You have to be looked on as subhuman and inferior for it to be justified in the invader's eyes. It is very difficult to disenfranchise people if you see them as your equal. This is why the Irish were seen the way they were at that time. The Irish cluster with British on autosomal dna and look just the same as their British neighbours.

In "Iraqi" Kurdistan we have a proper weather system, i.e. very hot summers reaching 52 degrees and very cold winters reaching -10 with lots of snow. So posting pictures of Kurds will do you no favors because depending on the time of year, and the amount of exposure to the harsh sun you will get various pigmentation levels.

I find it very strange that you separated Kurds from Iranians, considering the fact that in Iran there are many ethnic groups, some that aren't ethnically Iranic, like the Arabs and Assyrians. Not to mention the fact that the Balochis in Iran are the darkest. The lightest groups in Iran are Kurds(People that are very related to Kurds i.e. Lurs), Persians and Azeris. Dunno about genes (I don't give a fuck really) but Malta has always been linked historically, geographically and culturally to Europe and their living standards are way superior than many other countries with less pigmented people. That's what's Europe to me: Progress.

Maltese are genetically closer to Sicilians than to the North Africans, however they're somewhat darker than Sicilians in pigmentation closer to Greeks. To me they probably Europe's most brunet.
