This is a prophetic vision, anyway, not a description of Jesus' actual earthly appearance.

Who here has actually read the bible? 15 million dollars to the person who provides the verse that says Jesus had wooly hair. It mentions his hair color being likened to wool. Note: Color /=/ texture.

Not to mention that many Europeans and Middle Easterners have wooly hair. It's not an exclusive african trait.

The genealogy of Jesus is well-recorded, no SSA ancestors. Perhaps some Greek ones. But that's about it for gentile blood.

I couldn't tell you how many Christians I've met over the years who tried telling me that Jesus was Negro. All due to him, "Having hair like wool," and "the bible says his skin was bronze!" Can these fucking idiots ever read things in context? Do they know what a comparison is? No wonder they think the Earth was created in 6 days and Jesus rode a brachiosaurus.

I've never encountered anyone other than black people trying to claim that Jesus was black. But yes, most people have trouble reading things in context - especially when they haven't ever sat down & read through any single book of the Bible completely. However, this is a bit different from 6-day creationism, which is both consistent with a close contextual reading of Genesis & has a long historical pedigree.

Anyway ... what was this thread about again?

Duke harps on Jews way too much but otherwise makes a lot of good points.
