Anch`io. It`s one of the great advantages Malta that the people grow up
tri lingual. Which language do you prefer and use for every day conversation?

Spain was also invaded and conquered by Arabs, no? Malta did less time under Arab rule thanks to the Normans.Many Mediterranean people have middle-eastern influence so I didn't say any heresy here.

The invasion was not biological but cultural and was brought by the elites (there were much more berbers than arabs though) who were a few thousands. Spain's population was immensely bigger than Malta's. And the impact of a few thousands against milions was not strong enough to change phenotypes' people nor alter the genetic pool in a real meaningful way. Current Spaniards look the same like hispanos did, before any invasion of any kind: Goths or Islam.

Well normally us Maltese people talk in Maltese, but there's a "tradition" I must say that in middle-high class families in Malta talk in English, maybe to brag that they are High class or maybe because they know English is important as an international language.

I speak Maltese, but I remember as a child my family used to speak English most of the time.

Today Maltese people talk in Italian only when they can't find some word to say in Maltese (mind you Maltese also has Italian in it),most of us learn Italian from TV and school.

In the past...lets say before the 1920's there was a "high class war" lets call it like that, between pro-Italians and pro-British..pro Italians were those that most probably had Italian roots in their family and pro-British were those who supported her Majesty the Queen at the time.Eventually pro-Italian people decreased drastically especially after WWII.

You must admit that there are a good percentage of Spanish people that look darker in skin tone just like Italians, Maltese and any other Mediterraneans. You know how I feel when Nordic Supremacists say that Spaniards aren't European just because of their skin tone. Same thing applies for Malta, mind you..we also have a good amount of fair skinned people, this Arab stereotyping is just bad.

I can confirm that. I have seen a documentary recently about Malta
and some people look British or Celtic as well.
Which should not mean, that being fair skinned is of any importance to me,
it`s just a fact.
