Against, for a few reasons.
1. Killing someone that you have subdued, caged and made essentially harmless to you is barbaric, and I wouldn't want it done in my name, much less to a fellow citizen by his/her own state.
2. The criminal justice system is not infallible and never will be, if you support the death penalty then you necessarily accept that the state is not only killing some of it's own citizens, but a number of innocent ones too.
3. Any humane criminal justice system that seeks to minimize the numbers of innocents being executed by using a robust appeals process would end up costing more to the taxpayer than simply locking a prisoner away for life would, as it already does in the USA.
